SPUD is the creation of Rob Walsh. A native of County Wicklow, Rob spent over a decade in advertising and live brand campaigns, delivering programmes for some of the world’s leading companies. SPUD grew from his desire to present Ireland in a new way. Drawing on his creativity, judgement and trusted network across the country, he curates programmes that are thoughtful, well run and rooted in place.

People often ask, “Why SPUD?” The name reflects our approach. The “spud” has sustained Ireland for generations. It is simple, dependable and deeply connected to the land. We see it as a reminder to look beneath the surface. To understand a country, you need to know its people, its stories and its traditions, not just its landmarks.

At SPUD, we focus on substance. Ireland is not a checklist. It is a country to be understood and enjoyed at the right pace, in the right way.
