An Irish Wake

Your Family Story, Brought to Life

A PRIVATE EVENING SHAPED AROUND YOUR IRISH ANCESTRY.

The Irish Wake is a deeply personal cultural experience rooted in an old Irish tradition. In the 1800s, as people left Ireland for distant lands, families gathered for a “living wake”, a farewell held in honour of those unlikely to return. We reimagine this tradition through your own family story.

The experience begins well before you arrive in Ireland. We work closely with genealogist to the stars, Kayleigh Bealin to research your family background, tracing names, places, and stories connected to your Irish roots. Together, we identify a key ancestor whose journey becomes the heart of the evening.

That research is then shaped into a narrative. An experienced storyteller works in collaboration with the genealogist to write a story that reflects your family’s history, told as it might have been shared generations ago.

On the evening itself, you rewind to the period where your ancestors would have left Ireland. Set in the background of an old traditional Irish Pub, your family story is told aloud, interwoven with traditional music, conversation, and shared moments around the table, just like it might have been when your ancestors departed. Food and drink are served as they would have been at a wake.

This immersive experience honours where you come from and leaves you with a deeper connection to Ireland and your own story.
